Holiday season

2011.11.14 Mon

While Halloween isn't the beginning of the holiday season, it's very close. November is the official beginning of the Holiday season in the states. You'll often hear us say, "Happy Holidays" as oppose to saying: "Happy Thanksgiving's Day," "Merry Christmas," "Happy Hanukkah," "Happy Kwanzaa," and "Happy New Year." There are so many different festivals from November to January, it's just easier and a bit more polite to say "Happy Holidays," and a lot less confusing. I suppose it's because America was such a melting pot of culture in it's early days.

Dear Parents,

Happy Turkey Day! or as we officially say it "Happy Thanksgiving's Day!" It's my favorite holiday because it's all about food. Trust me, it's very tasty! Most families have turkey, but in mine, we usually go for a honey roasted spiral ham. It's delicious!

I wanted to say thanks for all your assistant for getting our Halloween costumes ready. The children were very excited about making their costumes and I'm glad that it was something that they could share with their families.

Thanks for everything,

Cassie Christen
